Do you worry about things?
What do you worry about?
In the story today, Jesus tells the people how God takes care of something that flies and something that grows in the ground.
What is the flying thing?
What is the thing that grows in the ground?
That’s right! Birds and flowers. Jesus tells the people that God takes care of the birds of the air and the lilies of the field. The birds aren’t worried that they won’t be able to find worms for breakfast and the flowers aren’t worried that they won’t grow or that they will have to make clothes for themselves.
How crazy would it be to see a bird worrying? What would that even look like?? Would it be chirping to itself all night long? Crying? Not sleeping? NO WAY. They don’t worry because God takes care of them!
Do you know that he takes care of you and me too?
Read Matthew 6:26 again. What does it say?
You are more valuable than the birds or the flowers! That means that you…YES YOU!…are super important to God!
How does it make you feel that the God who created EVERYTHING cares about you?
Sooo, God is on your team, right?
Do you think you need to worry about anything with God on your team?
We don’t need to worry about ANYTHING because God is on our team! Even when things in the world scare you or make you worried, you can remember that:
God loves you!
God will take care you!
God is in control!
No need to worry!!

Template HERE
The bird template can be used as a template for tracing items onto construction paper or as is.
Ripped pieces of construction paper or tissue paper can be glued on as bark and leaves.
If you have craft feathers, those can be glued onto the bird as well! Get creative!

Throw Your Worries Away!
Write down worries and/or fears when they come up on slips of paper. Share them with each other, pray about them and then crumple them up and throw them in the trash not to be worried about again!
How Does Worry Feel?
Collect various sizes and weights of items (toys, electronics, etc.) and a backpack.
Each item will represent a worry that gets put into the backpack. Example: “This toy is my worry about Coronavirus.”
Once it is full of “worries”, have them put it on and walk around with it. Heavy, huh? See how easy it is to run around, go to sleep, make dinner, etc with it on. Then, have them dump everything out and do the same things to see how much easier things are when we give God our worries!
