Do you have any rules in your house?
What are they?
What is the most important rule in your house?
There are rules everywhere…rules at home, rules at school, rules for driving and so many more. Right. now, it’s a rule to wear a mask! Rules keep us safe and help us and rules aren’t just around us in the world, they are in the Bible too. Most of the time, they are called commands or commandments.
Do you know any rules or commandments in the Bible?
What are they?
There are a lot of commands in the Bible and even 10 commandments that help us be more like Jesus if we follow them. But, there are two commands that Jesus said are most important.
Read Mark 12:28-31 again.
What is the most important command?
What is the second most important command?
We shouldn’t steal. We should obey our parents. Those are true and super important, but the most important commands are to LOVE GOD and to LOVE OUR NEIGHBOR!
Hmm, I guess loving God doesn’t seem too hard. He’s pretty awesome, forgives us of our sins and takes care of us so what’s not to love. But, loving everyone else? Hmm, sometimes that is hard especially when they do things that annoy you or make you mad.
But you know what? I have a little secret. Wanna know it? Get closer. Closer…
If you love God with all of your heart, soul and mind, he will help you love others. Spending time with God gives us what we need to love others. We can’t do it without Him!
Soo, this week, practice loving God and loving others.
